The Chess Pieces:

• The pawn advances one square ahead or two squares on its initial move and captures diagonally one square forward.
• The king moves one square in any direction: vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.
• The queen navigates any distance either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.
• The rook travels any number of squares either vertically or horizontally.
• The knight moves in an L-shape pattern: two squares vertically and one horizontally or one square vertically and two horizontally.
• The bishop maneuvers any distance along diagonals.

Key Chess Scenarios:

• Check: Condition where a king is directly threatened by the opponent's pieces.
• Checkmate: Situation where a player is in check and has no possible legal moves to evade capture.
• Stalemate: Occurrence when a player’s only legal move leads to a draw as they are not in check but have no viable moves left.

In Chess, the ultimate objective lies in delivering checkmate to the opponent’s king.
